Homeless to Harvard

I have seen Homeless to Harvard so many times and never gets boring. It is Based on a true story. Liz Murray is a young girl who is taken care of by her loving, but drug-addicted parents. Liz becomes homeless at 15 and after a tragedy comes upon her, she begins her work to finish high school.

One Woman’s Courage

There is no other actress that does it like Patty Duke! She is my absolute favourite, in this film her husband Craig is having an affair she starts drinking. One night Grace witnesses a man attacking a girl; she helps her to the hospital but does not want to be a witness in court because of Craig, thinking that he would lose his reputation.

Only when the mother of the girl appeals to her, Grace puts herself in contact with Lt. Lawson from the police department. During the trial Grace identifies Bremer as the thug but at the same time she is being asked questions about her private life. When in the end Bremer is set free, he is out to chase Grace.

The Face on the Milk Carton

Kellie Martin is one of my favourite actresses, anyone else agree? She plays a teenage girl who sees a photograph of herself one day in the school cafeteria – on a Missing Persons column on the side of a milk carton. But her beloved parents would never kidnap anyone and there’s a deeper mystery ahead.

A Friend To Die For

Kellie Martin did a masterful job playing the role of an awkward teenage girl desperately yearning for acceptance from the “In” crowd in high school. Two scenes that totally sold me on how convincing the role of Angela was played was when Angela was being dropped off for the ski trip and, in front of the other kids, Angela’s mother goes to clean Angela’s face with a handkerchief. Embarrassed, Angela moves her mother’s arm and storms off to collect her bag. As Angela lifts her bag, she looks back to her mother and gives her a classic “Why did you do that, mom?” look that I think only Kellie Martin can make convincing.

A friend to die for

Finally, after being initiated by the Larks, Angela and the other girls go off driving looking for guys to kiss. Angela gets snubbed as she attempts to kiss an elder gentlemen sitting in his car. Reflecting on her public humiliation, Angela has a heart to heart talk with her sister about her wanting to be someone else. Kellie Martin played the role masterfully! This is a 5 Star Lifetime Movie!

She Fought Alone

Another one of my favourite Lifetime Movies is about a young high school student who is raped by a classmate. However, when word of the crime gets out, instead of condemning the rapist–a member of the school’s championship football team–the other students jeer at and humiliate her, call her a “slut”, accuse her of instigating the rape and pressure her to keep her mouth shut so the football team will still be able to play.

No One Would Tell

Shy sixteen-year-old Stacy Collins can’t believe that the most popular guy in school, an attractive athlete named Bobby Tennison, is interested in her. At first she is flattered by his constant attention, but then he becomes possessive and jealous-telling her who she can speak to and what she can wear.

Threats escalate into violence when Bobby thinks Stacy has stepped out of line. Soon she is walking on egg shells and living in fear. Having seen the tell-tale bruises, Stacy’s best friend convinces her to break things off with Bobby-but in a moment of weakness, Stacy goes to meet him.

She’s Too Young

Ok so it’s not a Lifetime Movie from the 80s or 90s but it is a great one to watch. It’s about a Highschool outbreak of STD’s among high-school students. Among them is Hannah Vogul, and her horrified mother tries to find out the story of why this is happening. I’d love to hear what others opinions are on this Lifetime Movie.
